Fill the Field
Fill the Field is a project adopted from Tarleton State University. This philanthropic effort was developed to do just what its name implies: fill a field with humanitarian goods. This field will be divided into sections described as “units” and “squares”. Each 15’X15’ “unit” will house four 7.5’X7.5’ “squares”. Any department, organization or business may adopt these units or squares and will be responsible for filling up their section with humanitarian goods (such as bottled water, canned goods, clothing, hygiene items, and various other non-perishables). Following the collection of these items, we will donate these goods to any pantries, missions, or organizations in the surrounding areas that show a need for donations due to these hard economic times.
So how can you get involved? We are asking all businesses, churches, schools, municipalities, WTAMU student organizations and departments to “adopt” a square or unit on the field. After a square or unit has been adopted, you will be provided with a list of needs in our community. We ask that you take the designated list and “fill” your adopted square or unit with those needs. You will also be given the opportunity on that day to represent your organization, business, or department with banners, signs, and/or various other avenues of promotion. If you are not affiliated with an organization or business but would like to contribute, we offer two ways in which you can volunteer – make a donation to the “open” units available or volunteer your time. We greatly appreciate your help to this effort.
Fill the Field will be held on April 4, 2012. We will be accepting donations from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Entertainment will be provided for all ages as you partake in the opportunity to change others through your giving.
